Abstract

This report presents the results of a cultural resources survey and testing program conducted by Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS), for Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC). The project area investigated is a 2.9 ha (7.1 ac) tract of land overlooking Little Turkey Creek, on the outskirts of the community of Mt. Zion in Carroll County, Georgia (Figure 1). The purpose of this investigation was to locate and evaluate, in terms of eligibility to the National Register of Historic Places, all cultural resources that could be adversely impacted by the proposed construction of the 115/12 kV electrical substation.
