Abstract

The proposed project would reconstruct the I-75 bridges over SR 156 in Gordon County. The project also includes minor widening on SR 156 adjacent to I-75. The proposed project would begin approximately 120 meters (400 feet) west of I-75 then continue easterly on SR 156 ending at CR 483. The existing right-of-way on SR 156 is approximately 18 meters (60 feet), while the additional required right-of-way will be a maximum of approximately 30.4 meters (100 feet). An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed rights-of-way was conducted for the entire .48 kilometer (.30 mile) project corridor. No existing or potentially eligible National Register archaeological resources were located within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect as described in paragraph two above. It is concluded, therefore, that the project will have no effect upon archaeological resources on or eligible for inclusion in the NRHP provided that the project conforms to that described above.".
