This project consists of pedestrian improvements In the vicinity of Louisville Academy in Jefferson County, Georgia (see attached Figure 1). Along Mimosa Drive, from 8th Street to 10th Street, new sidewalk will be installed on the north side of the road and existing sections of damaged sidewalk will be replaced on the south side of the road. New raised crosswalks will be provided crossing Mimosa Drive at the intersections with 8th Street, 9th Street, and 10th Street. and crossing 8th Street at the intersection with Academy Drive. Sections of existing damaged sidewalk will be replaced with new sidewalk along the east side of 9th Street and the west side of 10th Street from Peachtree Street/United States (US) Business 1/US 221/State Route (SR) 24 to Mimosa Drive. Sections of existing damaged sidewalk will also be replaced with new sidewalk along both sides of 8th Street from Peachtree Street/US Business 1/US 221/SR 24 to Academy Drive, along the east side of 8th Street from Academy Drive to Mimosa Drive, and along the south side of Academy Drive from 8th Street to 9th Street. Marked crosswalks will be installed with Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps at all street intersections within the project limits.
