Abstract

During September of 1986, Robert S. Webb conducted a cultural resource survey of the proposed Oglethorpe Power Corporation's 2 hectare (5.1 acre) Roddenbery tap line corridor and substation site. The proposed project is in Grady County, Georgia, near Cairo. A review of the state site files and the National Register of Historic Places revealed that no previously recorded cultural resources are located within the proposed corridor or substation site. Surface survey and shovel testing revealed a historic surface site (OPC 5-1) and a 20th century standing structure (OPC 5-2).
