The proposed project would replace the existing bridge along SR 3/US 41/Joe Frank Harris Highway over CR 122/Old Highway 41, near the city of Adairsville; Bartow County. The existing bridge consists of two 12-ft travel lanes with 3-ft shoulders. The bridge; which was built in 1949, is 220-ft long and 36-ft wide with a sufficiency rating of 28.63. The existing right-of-way (ROW} varies between 100-ft and 250-ft. The proposed bridge consists of two 12-ft travel lanes with 3-ft shoulders and would be approximately 300-ft long and 44-ft wide. An onsite detour is proposed during construction to the southern side of the bridge. Proposed required ROW varies from 0 to 80-ft as indicated by the submitted layouts and not specified in the Initial Special Studies Request.
