Abstract

During January of 1987. Robert S. Webb conducted a cultural resource Survey of the proposed water treatment site and water line corridor in Wildwood Park (formerly Keg Creek Park). The proposed project area is in Columbia County, Georgia, near Leah. A review of the state site files, the National Register of Historic Places and various map and report files revealed that no previously recorded Cultural resources are located within the proposed corridor or water, treatment site. Intensive Surface Survey and shovel testing yielded two archeological sites (one multicomponent and one prehistoric lithic scatter) and three isolated finds. These resources were evaluated in terms of National Regis-ter of Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60/36 CFR BOO). None of the resources were found to be significant and cultural clearance is recommended for the project area.
