During March of 1987, Robert S. Webb conducted a cultural resource Survey of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed South Acworth Substation site and Bells Ferry transmission line corridor. The proposed project is in Cherokee and Cobb Counties. Georgia., near Acworth. A review of the state site files and the National Register of Historic Places revealed that no previously recorded Cultural resources are located within the proposed corridor or substation site. Surface survey and shovel testing yielded two isolated finds from disturbed contexts, but no other cultural resources. Cultural clearance is there-fore recommended for the project area.
