Abstract

This project will re-construct the existing deficient roadway drainage system of US 27/SR 1 and South Cuthbert Street by using larger and/or dual pipes, and corresponding new drainage structures. All but three of the proposed pipes/structures will be in the same location of the existing pipes/structures being replaced. The project will begin with the existing inlet in the southeast corner of the Hardees parking lot, approximately 850 ft. northwest of the intersection of US 27/SR 1 and South Cuthbert Street. From this point, the reconstruction proceeds southeast along US 27/SR 1 until reaching South Cuthbert Street. From here, the project continues south along South Cuthbert Street to the intersection of Sexton Street where the proposed reconstruction ends. In addition to the work above and to account for increased velocity due to increased pipe size, rip rap will be placed at the system outlet to prevent erosion. The project ends at the existing system outlet on the south side of Sexton Street at the intersection of South Cuthbert Street and Sexton Street. This project is located in Colquitt, Georgia in Miller County. It is in the 13th Land District, Land Lots Nos. 169 & 170 and Georgia Militia District 903. The proposed project length is approximately 0.68 mile. No new right-of-way will be required (existing right-of-way varies between 25-35 feet). Additional easements will be required between 25-33 feet.
