Abstract

Project CSHF'P-0007-OO(626); P.I. # 0007626 consists of the rehabilitation of the historic Eastman Bus Station into a multi-use space. The Eastman Bus Station was listed on the NRHP in 2002. Rehabilitation would consist of repairs to the exterior of the building and the replacement of some exterior features, where necessary, using compatible building materials. Rehabilitation to the interior of the building would primarily take place on the first floor. Repairs to interior spaces and the replacement of some interior features, where necessary, would use compatible building materials. The rehabilitation would also include upgrades to plumbing and electrical systems; the installation of a central heat and air system, as well as a unisex restroom. The exterior paved parking area in front of the building would remain and would be repaved. An Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant parking space would be added at the rear of the building and a rear building entrance would be made ADA compliant. Improvements to the dirt driveway leading to the rear ADA compliant building entrance would be made where necessary. The existing right-of-way in front of the building on College Street is approximately 40 feet, 20 feet on either side of the centerline of the street. Parking space improvements would take place within temporary construction easements. Driveway improvements would take place within the existing right-of-way and within temporary construction easements.
