Abstract

This project consisted of the emergency repair of a portion of Lake Howard Road where it crosses over the Lafayette City Reservoir at Mile Post 0.8 that was damaged by the September 2009 flood (Figure 1). Specifically. the project consisted of 200 feet of repairs on the south side of the road that reestablished the structural integrity of the roadway. This involved repairing and reconstructing the roadway with fill to restablize it and reduce future erosion. Also, the shoulder was re-graded and grassed to further prevent erosion. New striping and guardrails were also installed as needed. All work on this project was completed by September 2010 and it took place within the existing 80-foot right-of-way.
