Abstract

The proposed project is located in Rockdale County at the intersection of SR 138/Stockbridge Highway and E. Fairview Road SW The existing SR 138/Stockbridge Highway consists of two 12-foot travel lanes (one in each direction) and paved shoulders. The existing right-of-way (ROV\1) width varies between approximately 100 and 200 feet The proposed project length along E. Fairview Road SW is approximately 830 feet, 350 feet north and 480 feet south of the center of the existing intersection. The proposed project length along SR 138/Stockbridge Highway is approximately 1,000 feet, 500 feet each side of the center of the existing intersection. The existing E. Fairview Road SW consists of two 11-foot travel lanes, one in each direction, and unpaved shoulders. The existing ROW width is approximately 80 feet. The proposed roundabout would consist of a single-lane with curb and gutter, arid would have a speed limit of 35 mph. ROW of varied quantities would be required from each of the existing four quadrants of the intersection. The project consists of the intersection reconstruction into a single-lane, modern roundabout configuration.
