Abstract

The proposed project would construct bike lanes, enhanced sidewalks and a raised median along SR 120/Abbotts Bridge Road between Parsons Road and SR 141/Medlock Bridge Road (Figure 1). The existing typical section of SR 120/Abbotts Bridge road consists of two 12-foot travel lanes with some left-tum and right-tum lanes at various intersections. The proposed typical section would include two travel lanes with tum lanes where required, a raised median, as well as enhanced sidewalks and bike lanes along both sides of the corridor to facilitate pedestrian and cyclist mobility in the area. The existing right-of-way (ROW) varies between approximately 50 feet and 100 feet, and the proposed ROW would vary between approximately 80 feet and 120 feet. The length of the proposed project would be approximately 7,900 feet

A 4,000-foot portion of this project between Parsons Road and a point 560 feet west of Abbotts Run Trail was surveyed by Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) in 2011 as part of PI # 000731 O.(see Figure 1 ), and no archaeological sites or isolated finds were identified (Blackwelder 2011 }. See the description of that project in the Additional Attachment. Consequently, the present survey extends approximately 3,900 feet from a point 560 feet west of SR 120/Abbotts Run Trail to SR 141/Medlock Bridge Road.
