Phase I Archaeological Survey for Proposed Bridge Replacement at SR 323 over Grove River, Banks County, Georgia

Abstract

The proposed project is located along SR 323 at Grove River, approximately 6.5 miles west of Homer in Banks County, Georgia. The proposed project will replace the existing 28-foot wide bridge with a new 34-foot wide bridge. The new bridge will be shifted parallel (North) of the existing which will minimize environmental impacts. The proposed bridge would consist of two 11-foot travel lanes with 6-foot rural shoulders and wiU be 200 feet long. The existing right-of-way (ROW) is approximately 110 feet Right of the proposed construction centerline. Existing ROW is approximately 45 feet on both sides of the existing centerline for SR 323. Proposed ROW would be approximately 50 feet parallel on both sides of the proposed centerline. No temporary bridge will be constructed. The proposed project length would be approximately 0.60 miles.
