Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the undertaking at the subject site. The subject site includes a proposed approximate 100-foot by 100-foot (30-meter by 30-meter) lease area and an approximate 131-foot by 20-foot (40-meter by 6-meter) access/utility easement. The proposed telecommunications facility would include a 310-foot overall height monopole telecommunications structure and associated ground level support equipment. The subject site is located at 170 Clements Simmons Road, Tifton, Tift County, Georgia.

An Archaeological Assessment was conducted within the APE for direct effects. During our database research, we found no previously recorded sites within a 1-mile background research radius. However, we did identify one previous report (6920) within the 1-mile APE for visual effects but outside the APE for direct effects. During our fieldwork we uncovered no archaeological cultural artifacts (see Attachment E-1c). Based on our findings, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking. ECA believes that the proposed undertaking would have no effect on any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Based on our findings related to archaeological resources, we recommend no further consultation under Section 106 Review of the National Historic Preservation Act for this proposed undertaking.
