The proposed project would consist of intersection improvements at the Forest Road/Floyd Road intersection as part of an overall road improvement project. Previously, archaeological clearance was completed by Southeastern Archeological Services for the Department of Transportation. Currently, GDOT is proposing early right-of-way acquisition of the Charles D. Bowers property for construction easements. This property is located at the northeastern corner of the Forest Road/Floyd Road intersection. The survey area was delineated by an area approximately 210 feet X 34 feet. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor.
