Abstract

The Kingsland Depot site is bounded on the north by King Avenue (Georgia Highway 40), on the west by Satilla Street, on the South by Williams Avenue and on the East by a commercial business and a residential home. The A.P.E. for the Kingsland Depot rehabilitation project includes the site itself, the commercial property (Kingsland Cable) at the northeast corner as well as the residential home at the southeast corner.

The Kingsland Depot site is primarily a flat, grass lot, it contains several large trees including a live oak, a magnolia tree, and a camilia tree, The lot also contains two newly planted magnolia trees. There are also several other large oak trees and shrubs along the east property line between Kingsland Cable and the residential home. The north side of the depot site is bordered by a portion of a brick streetscape sidewalk project, previously funded by a GDOT TE project. The south side of the depot site is bordered by a concrete sidewalk

The north facade of the depot faces a commercial bank (Citizen State Bank) directly across Georgia Highway 40. The south fac;ade of the building faces a commercial building occupied by Kingsland First Baptist Church and Kingsland United Methodist Church, the west fac;ade of the depot faces a residential home directly across Satilla Street on the northwest comer, as well as a residential home located on the southwest corner, As stated, earlier the east fac;ade of the depot faces Kingsland Cable and a residential home.

The proposed rehabilitation of the Kingsland Depot is the only planned development project with the A. P. E. at this time. As noted on the Kingsland Depot site map, there are several proposed future projects including, parking lot, restroom facility, pavilion, sidewalks, and landscaping improvements. However, these future projects are not included in the current TE project.
