On November 2, 2000, staff archaeologists from the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted an archaeological survey of CR 98/Griffin Road in Long County, Georgia. CR 98/Griffin Road is currently an unimproved dirt road, scheduled for grading, base, drainage and paving. The survey was conducted in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto. No archaeological resources on or eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places were located near or within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect (APE).
