Abstract

The proposed project for PI No. 0010413 would replace the structurally deficient bridge over Soap Creek on State Route 43, located four miles east of Lincolnton in Lincoln County, Georgia. The proposed bridge would be elevated approximately eight feet and would be 223 feet long and 40 feet wide, with two 12-foot travel lanes (one in each direction) and eight-foot shoulders. The project requires both terrestrial and underwater archaeological survey. Southeastern Archaeological Research (SEARCH) conducted the underwater portion of the survey, and New South Associates completed the terrestrial survey.
