Abstract

The proposed project would provide enhancements to 6 road segments. Segment 1 begins on Cumslo Road at Jones County High School with one existing travel lane heading north, one existing travel lane heading south, and one existing center turn lane. As Cumslo Road changes to Railroad Street, the lane configuration is two existing travel lanes, ending at US 129/SR 22. There are no parking lanes within the right of way. A 5-foot sidewalk is proposed to connect the entire corridor, beginning offset on the east side of Cumslo Road and ending on the west side of Railroad Street measuring approximately 5,652 feet in length and 5 feet in width. There is approximately 60 linear feet of proposed 6x24 inch curb and gutter, type 2. There are no proposed changes to the lane configuration. Irritation and landscaping are proposed in this segment. This segment has a posted speed limit of 35 MPH. Segment 2 is on SR 18 and has one existing travel lane heading south and two existing travel lanes heading north. There are no parking lanes located on this segment. A sidewalk is proposed from Gray Station School to the SR 18 Connector on the west side of the roadway, measuring approximately 2,540 feet in length and 5 feet in width. There is approximately 15 linear feet of proposed 6x24 inch curb and gutter, type 2. There are no proposed changes to the lane configuration. Landscaping and irrigation are proposed for this segment. This segment has a posted speed limit of 45 MPH. Segment 3 on SR 18 Connector has one existing travel lane heading north and one existing travel lane heading south. There are no parking lanes located in this segment.
