Second Addendum to the Phase I Archaeological Survey of the Proposed Lee Road Widening Project, in Douglas County, Georgia

Report Number
8815
Year of Publication
2010
Abstract

The current addendum addresses the proposed widening of Lee Road from SR 92 to approximately 1,100 feet south of the I-20 interchange (GDOT Project No. MSL00-0004-00(428), P.I. No. 0004428). The first addendum also included GDOT Project No. NHS00-0001-00(917), P.I. No. 0001917, the proposed reconstruction of the I-20 interchange at Lee Road. P.I. No. 0001917 is currently under construction; therefore, the current addendum (Second Addendum) addresses P.I. No. 0004428, which is scheduled for Let in December 2015. The plans have not changed for Lee Road. The only changes are related to ROW negotiations involving temporary and permanent easements, equaling approximately 5.8 acres beyond the limits of the first addendum; the ROW is the same as the 2006 description. Approximately 1.03 acres of the APE consist of temporary driveway easements as well as easement associated with fencing, which vary between approximately 5 feet to 65 feet, and are located intermittently along the entire extent of Lee Road, from SR 92 to I-20. Permanent slope maintenance easements, varying between approximately 5 feet to 100 feet populate the entire survey area as well, with the intersections of Maxwell Place, Old Lee Road, Old Chestnut Log Road, Chestnut Log Loop, East County Line Road, and Falls River Drive making up the majority of these easement areas. The largest portion of slope maintenance easement is located at the northern extent of the APE area, immediately adjacent to Villas Ridge Drive.
