The current project proposes to build a two lane asphalt access road that consists of a 24' wide roadway with concrete curb and gutter in the Carbondale Business Park. The proposed road is being built in two phases. Phase 1, the east-west and county funded portion, was being logged at the time of this survey and construction was later completed with county funds immediately following the survey. Phase 2 would be constructed in 2015. This survey included both phases of this project because the funding had not been clarified at that time. The parent tract on which the proposed access road would be built is a 185-acre parcel for a proposed industrial and commercial park located at the Carbondale Road exit of I-75 in Dalton (Whitfield County), Georgia, The park is owned by the Dalton-Whitfield County Joint Development Authority and available lots range from 3 to 50 acres with all utilities available.
