Abstract

The proposed project would mill and overlay (repave) approximately 4 miles of streets in East Point, Fulton County, Georgia. The project would repave a 1.7 mile stretch of Irene Kidd Parkway from Main Street to Springdale Road. Additional lengths of repaving include a 1.1 mile portion of Norman Berry Drive from Irene Kidd Parkway to Willingham Drive, and Sylvan Road from Oakleigh Drive continuing south for approximately 1.3 miles to an unnamed driveway approximately 400 feet south of Poplar Street. Another separate stretch of repaving runs down Virginia Avenue from Harrison Road to the Drury Inn and Suites Hotel at the intersection with Norman Berry Drive, approximately .4 miles in length. The total project length is approximately 4.3 miles.

In addition to the repaving, the project would include the construction of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant wheelchair ramps at 12 intersections throughout the project corridor. The ramps would be constructed at the intersections of Irene Kidd Parkway and Central Avenue, Norman Berry Drive and Glenway Drive, Sylvan Road and Jefferson Avenue, Sylvan Road and Parkside Terrace, Virginia Avenue and Harrison Street, Virginia Avenue and Econolodge Motel entrance, Virginia Avenue at Lee Street, and two locations where Virginia Avenue meets the I-85 ramps. All repaving and sidewalks improvements would take place within existing right-of-way (ROW). Existing ROW varies between approximately 100 and 140 feet.
