The proposed project would consist of the replacement of the existing bridge on County Road (CR) 1385/Buffington Road over Morning Creek Tributary in Fulton County. The proposed project has been revised to remove the temporary detour bridge and shorten the project limits. Instead of the temporary detour bridge, users of the facility will be directed to a detour route along State Route (SR) 138/Jonesboro Road to 1-85 to Flat Shoals Road, approximately 4.3 miles.
The previous proposed bridge was 160 feet-long and 44 feet wide. The current proposed bridge would be 200 feet long and 48 feet wide. Though the size of the bridge has increased, the total ROW and easement requirements have been reduced; ROW from 2.1 acres to 0.77 acre and easements from 0.07 acre to 0.02 acre. Total project length has been reduced from 0.30 miles to 0.19 miles.
