The surplus parcel is adjacent to the intersection of SR 11 and the I-85 SB exit ramp in Jackson County, Georgia. The parcel is 0.70 acre (30,492 ft2) and is being considered for disposal by the Department. Survey involved pedestrian coverage of the project area as well as subsurface shovel testing. Shovel tests consisted of approximately 30-centimeter diameter holes excavated to subsoil, with fill screened through ¼’’ mesh hardware. Shovel tests were not excavated in areas, which were deemed heavily disturbed, totally wet, or significantly sloped.
