Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The subject site includes a proposed 75-foot by 75-foot telecommunications compound and a section of proposed access measuring 100-feet by 20-feet. Minimal clearing and grading would be necessary for construction of the proposed compound and section of access on already highly disturbed soils. The facility would include a 150-foot monopole telecommunications structure (155-foot structure with appurtenances) and associated ground level support equipment. The facility would be located at 185 Green Top Road near Newnan in Coweta County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. No previously recorded archaeological sites within the APE for direct effects were identified through our review of available cultural records and databases. Furthermore, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered during the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment.

We conclude that the undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
