Abstract

The proposed project consists of the intersection improvement of SR 28/Sandbar Ferry Road at CR 475/ Laney Walker Boulevard in Augusta (see attached location map). Both State Route 28/Sandbar Ferry Road and County Road 475/Laney Walker Boulevard currently consists of four, 12-ft travel lanes divided by 44-ft depressed grassed median and rural shoulders. Existing right-of-way varies from 195 to 292 feet. An additional left tum lane would be constructed on SR 28 on the northern approach to Laney Walker Boulevard and correct the alignment of the left turn/through lane on the eastbound Laney Walker Boulevard to realign it with Riverfront Drive. No additional right-of-way is required for this project.
