Abstract

The following is a summary of the recommendations emerging from the detailed archaeological survey of the study area, conducted by Richard F. Carrillo. Archaeologist for the 1979 study. A complete report of the archaeological survey was submitted with the 1979 study under separate cover.

There exists a high probability that six road bridges or culverts will be directly affected or altered as a result of the proposed canal improvements. The culvert at Ninth and Fenwick Streets, along with the bridges at Walton Way, Eighth Street, and Twiggs Street, will be removed and replaced with new structures. The structures at Eleventh Street and Twelfth Street will be altered to some degree.
