Abstract

The present report made to the staff of the Georgia Historical Commission is a discussion designed to stimulate a constructive interaction of ideas. It is representative of my own views on a subject which is felt to need serious consideration at this time. I ask that my credibility be based, not on any avowed special knowledge of or skill in these matters, but simply as another staff member who is very well acquainted with many aspects of the New Echota Restoration. In as much as I see it as deriving from and as part of my responsibility in being involved in a reappraisal of New Echota, and also because I have a very sincere wish to see this development finalized in a tasteful and well done tribute to all concerned, I submit this report to the Executive Secretary and staff members. It is hope that it might become more than “just another report” on New Echota.
