Abstract

Site 9Pa(DOT)3 was located on November 16, 2009 during an archaeological survey for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project STP-186-1(25) in Paulding County, Georgia (Figure 1). Since the original survey for this project in 2003 (Patch 2003), both temporary and permanent easements have been added to both sides of SR 92 along most of the corridor to allow for cut and fill requirements. This necessitated an additional archaeological Phase I survey. The new easement areas were subjected to systematic shovel tests spaced every 30m (approximately 100ft). This project is located through the city of Hiram and intersects several major roadways.
