Abstract

The proposed project would consist of directional boring and installation of TY 3 strain poles for cameras within the existing shoulders of the roadway. Conduit, poles, and pull boxes would be placed within existing right-of-way (ROW) along the shoulder of the road. The directional boring would involve boring beneath the road to reach the other side, with the remainder of the work running parallel to the road shoulder approximately 2 to 5 feet off of the toe of the road slope. The shoulder work would involve the installation of pull boxes and conduit and would utilize existing conduit and pull boxes where possible.

The overall project length along Five Forks Trickum Rd from Rockbridge Rd to Killian Hill Rd is approximately 3 miles and from Oak Rd to Sugarloaf Parkway is approximately 3.7 miles for a cumulative project length of 6.7 miles. All work would be performed within the existing (ROW). Existing ROW along Five Forks Trickum Road is 80 feet. At the intersection of Five Forks Trickum Road and Ronald Reagan Parkway, existing ROW increases to 165 feet.
