The proposed project would consist of intersection improvements at State Route (SR) 81 and SR 162 in Newton County (Figures .1 and 2). These improvements would include a single lane roundabout designed with the ability to accommodate two lanes with minimal improvements at a later date. From the intersection midpoint, the project is anticipated to extend a maximum of approximately 705 feet west and 655 feet east on SR 81 and approximately 525 feet south and 985 feet north on SR 162. The width of the proposed ROW varies from S6 to 160 feet.
