Abstract

Presented in this report are the results of a study concerning the relocation, identification and evaluation of five submerged magnetic anomalies located in the Chattahoochee River, Georgia, between river miles 37.8 and 38.4. Field work was performed in the period of August 28, 1979 to September 2, 1979 by Cultural Resource Services under contract with the Mobile District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Discussed in this report are the geological, geographical and historical settings of the study area, as well as study methodology and results. Evaluation of study data resulting in recommendations pertaining to the anomalies also appears herein.
