Abstract

This project consists of the widening and reconstruction of SR 49 from Felton Drive and ending at US 441/SR 29, from a two-lane facility to a four-lane facility with a 14' flush median. The proposed typical section consists of two 12' travel lanes in each direction with a 14' flush median with 10' shoulders (4' of which is paved) from the beginning of the project to Blandy Road. From Blandy Road to the end of the project, the typical section would consist of two 12' lanes in each direction with a 14' flush median with curb, gutter, and sidewalk. Dedicated left and right turn lanes will be provided where warranted. A traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of SR 49 and Blandy Road. Sidewalk will also be installed on the south side of the existing Fishing Creek Bridge. The total project length, including road and sidewalk improvements, would be approximately 2.8 miles.
