The proposed project would take place on State Route (SR) 195 at the intersection of City Street (CS) 543/Smithville Road and CS 547/2nd Street in northwest Leesburg, Lee County, Georgia. The existing condition on SR 195 at this intersection is a two-lane roadway with rural shoulders and continuous flow. CS 543/Smithville Road and CS 547/2nd Street are both two-lane stop-controlled roads that form a 6-way intersection with SR 195. The existing right-of-way (ROW) on SR 195 varies between 50 and 100 feet. The existing ROW along CS 543 and CS 547 varies between 50 and 100 feet. This project proposes adding either a six-legged or a 4-legged roundabout at the existing intersection. The four-legged roundabout option would eliminate access between SR 195 and CS 543 on the south side of the intersection, and SR 195 and CS 547 on the west side of the intersection.
