Abstract

The proposed project would consist of maintenance activities along a 13.710 mile section of SR 39 in Clay County from the SR 37 Connector to the Quitman County line. These proposed activities would consist of milling, patching, resurfacing, striping, and placement of raised pavement markers with four foot earth shoulder filling and curb cuts within the existing right-of-way with no work proposed beyond five feet of the existing edge of pavement. Note, on all bridges with concert decks, only restriping will occur.

Area of Potential Effect: Due to the fact that the majority of the proposed activities have no potential to affect historic properties, the area of potential effect for this project consists of the curb cut locations at three intersections along SR 39 in Clay County, Georgia. Curb cuts with ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps are proposed at the locations at the following three intersections along SR 39: Jefferson Street, Lafayette Street, and Calhoun Street.
