Abstract

The proposed project would replace the existing substandard bridge on State Route (SR) 136 over Talking Rock Creek located 3.5 miles east of Talking Rock In Pickens County, Georgia. The project begins near the intersection of SR 136 and Burnt Mountain Road and ends approximately .32 m1les west of the SR 136/Burnt Mountain Road intersection. The existing bridge is 50 feet in total length, and consists of 2 lanes, 12 feet wide with 2 foot outside shoulders at the bridge approach and a deck width of 28 feel. The proposed bridge would be approximately 75 feet in total length, and consist of 2 lanes, 12 feet in length with 6 fool paved shoulders and a deck width of 39 feet 3 inches. The existing right-of-way (ROW) is 100 feet centered along the roadway; the proposed ROW will be 140 feet.
