Abstract

GDOT Project PI 0015072 will rehabilitate the structurally deficient bridge carrying Riverside Parkway over Sweetwater Creek in Douglas County, Georgia. Anticipated repairs include pier cap strengthening/replacement, deck overlay, joint replacement, painting of existing steel superstructure, and scour countermeasures. Erosion and scour countermeasures will involve placing new rip-rap over old rip-rap on the end rolls, placing new rip-rap on the end rolls, and placing flowable fill (concrete) to repair undermined bents. The APE of the project consists of the footprint of the bridge structure and it covers 14,250 square feet (sq ft) (0.33 acres). The bridge structure is 340ft in length and 45ft in width. The existing ROW along Riverside Parkway throughout the project area measures 200 feet in width.
