Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the replacement of the existing bridge along CR 34/Second Avenue over the Hannahatchee Creek in the city of Omaha, Georgia (see attached location map). The current bridge consists of eight spans of steel beams on concrete and timber camps and steel Hpiles or timber piles. The bridge is currently closed due to advanced deterioration of the timber members and the steel H-piles, as well as the failure of the bridge deck. The proposed bridge would be a two-lane reinforced concrete and steel bridge, approximately 242 feet in length and 30 feet in width. The existing right-of-way (ROW) is approximately 80 feet (40 feet on each side of the roadway centerline). The proposed ROW is approximately 140 feet (70 feet on each side of the roadway centerline). The project length is 0.235 mile (1,240 feet).
