Abstract

The proposed project consists of construction along Perimeter Summit Parkway, Lake Hearn Drive, and Parkside Place in DeKalb County. Intersection improvements are proposed for the intersection of Perimeter Summit Parkway and Parkside Place and the intersection of Lake Hearn Drive and Parkside Place. The proposed project would include the addition and/or renovation of sidewalks, the installation of street and pedestrian ·lighting and street furniture, construction of new/larger medians and islands, restriping, and the renovation of existing crosswalks. Traffic signals would be upgraded to mast arm types at the intersection of Perimeter Summit Parkway and Parkside Place and the intersection of Lake Hearn Drive and Parkside Place. Lane widths would be narrowed on Lake Hearn Drive and Parkside Place to accommodate landscape and pedestrian improvements.

Benches, single-trunk flowering trees, general landscaping, light poles, and trash receptacles are proposed within a five-foot furniture zone along all streets within the project limits. Proposed trees would be planted at least four feet from the back of the curb. A ten-foot wide concrete multi-use path is proposed on the south side of Perimeter Summit Parkway extending from Perimeter Center Parkway to Ashford Dunwoody Road. Existing right-of-way (ROW) along Perimeter Summit Parkway and Lake Hearn Drive is 100 feet and varies from 80-90 feet along Parkside Place. Proposed additional ROW along the various streets within the project limits would vary from one to seven feet.
