Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the installation of pedestrian lighting, cross-walks, sidewalks, and landscaping along CR 384/Metcalf Road (South Reynolds Street) from Broad Street to Magnolia Road (Metcalf-Beachton Road) in Metcalf, GA, along a distance of approximately 596 feet. The existing facility lies within the Metcalf Historic District, and consists of two traffic lanes with a width of 12 feet with no shoulder, with an existing right-of-way of 100 feet. The majority of the corridor has no curb and gutter or sidewalks. The proposed facility would consist of two 12-foot traffic lanes with 24-30 inch curb and gutter, a 6-foot wide grass shoulder, and 6-foot wide sidewalks adjacent to the grass shoulder on both sides of the road. The two 12-ft. paved lanes are not part of this TE project, and are part of a later project. No additional right-of-way or easements are anticipated for this project.
