Abstract

Project BHN-002-6(38) would construct two parallel bridges on SR 11/US 129 at Allen Creek in Jackson County. A new 175 foot by 38 foot bridge would be constructed east of the existing bridge to serve the southbound traffic. The existing 24 foot by 120 foot bridge would be replaced with a 175 foot by 62 foot bridge which would serve north bound traffic. The area of potential effect for the noted bridge project was surveyed twice, once in 1997 by Rick Richardson and once in 2001 by Teresa Lotti, as part of project NH-002-6(51) (HPD# HP000327-003). The required right-of-way surveyed in the 2001 survey, 360 feet, has covered the 325 feet of required right-of-way needed for the bridge project. No additional survey for the bridge project is required at this time. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed project description was conducted along the entire length of the project corridor.
