Abstract

The proposed project would construct a 48.8 m x 11.6 m (160 ft x 38 ft) concrete bridge structure on new alignment north of the existing bridge on SR. 188 at Barnett's Creek northeast of Cairo, Georgia in Grady County. The existing bridge will be used as the detour and then removed after the project is completed. The existing right-of-way varies from 24.4 m to 39.6 m (80 to 130ft), while the proposed right-of-way will vary from 8 m to 43 m (26 to 141 ft) throughout the length of the project. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed project's rights-of-way was conducted for the entire 0.9 km (0.53 mi) project corridor.
