Cultural Resource Surveys for Optical Amplifier Stations in Newton, Greene, and Elbert Counties, Georgia

Abstract

This small report presents the fmdings of a Phase I cultural resource survey conducted in three areas within the Piedmont Physiographic region of Georgia. Optical Amplifier Sites are planned to be constructed in these three areas. The three sites surveyed were label as OA-37.1 (Hollow Oaks), OA-37.2 (Shields) and OA-37.3 (Fortsonia). The survey method included a pedestrian survey and shovel probes. No artifacts or cultural features were found on any of the sites surveyed. Therefore, we recommend that no further work be conducted on these sites.
