Abstract

A Phase I intensive archaeological survey was carried out for the proposed Bannister Creek mitigation bank along Bannister and Brewton creeks in Forsyth County, Georgia. The project was carried out in compliance with Section 106 (36 CFR 800, as amended 2004) of the National Historic Preservation Act by personnel qualified under 36CFR Part 61. The project parcel is located within the floodplain of Bannister and Brewton creeks and their tributaries, just to the east of the creeks' confluence with the Etowah River. The survey area comprises approximately 65 acres. The survey was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc. of Norcross, Georgia, for ACER Environmental, Inc. of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
