Abstract

This project consists of the replacement of the structurally deficient 1959 bridge (Structure ID 141-0006-0) over Little Shoulderbone Creek on State Route 161ocated 8.6 miles northwest of Sparta in Hancock County. The length of the project would be 0.34 mile. Traffic will be maintained on an on-site detour during construction. The existing bridge consists of three simple reinforced concrete deck girder spans on concrete caps with steel piles with a total length of 102 feet. The width is 28 feet consisting of one 12-foot lane in each direction. The proposed bridge would be 230 feet long x 36 feet wide. The proposed bridge would have one 12-foot lane in each direction with 6-foot shoulders.
