This project consists of pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements in Lakeland, GAin the vicinity of Lanier County Primary, Elementary, and Middle Schools. The project will improve pedestrian and bicycle accessibility and connectivity through the installation of new sidewalks, as well as pavement markings and wheel chair ramp improvements. All improvements will be constructed within the existing Right-of-Way. Sidewalks will be constructed/improved at the following locations: • Along the South side of West Patton Street beginning at existing sidewalk adjacent to Lanier County Middle School and ending at South Pafford Street. • Along the north side of West Patton Street beginning at South Pafford Street and ending at existing sidewa.lk on South Valdosta Road. Sidewalk here should be constructed as to discourage vehicles from traveling over or parking on the sidewalk. Existing, flush sidewalks do not have a positive barrier for drivers who currently tend to park or drive on the sidewalk. • Approximately 260' north of West Patton Street, connecting the Primary School entrance to existing sidewalk along South Valdosta Road. • Along the north side of East Berrien Avenue beginning at South Valdosta Road and extending approximately 230' east. South of Park Drive, connecting the elementary school entrance to existing sidewalk and allowing for connectivity to proposed improvements.
