Abstract

The proposed project would construct new 5-foot sidewalks and 2-foot curb and gutter and the project would improve connectivity and safety between, Hahira Elementary School and Hahira Middle School. The proposed sidewalks would connect to existing sidewalks at both project termini. The proposed project would begin approximately 175 feet east of the intersection of College Street and East Main Street/SR 122, extending approximately 930 feet along the south side of East Main Street to Main Street Extension. At the intersection of East Main Street and Main Street Extension, the project turns southeast and extends approximately 560 feet along the south side of Main Street Extension to Hagan Bridge Road. Additionally, the 560 feet on the north side of the Main Street Extension was included in the project. At the intersection of Main Street Extension and Hagan Bridge Road, the project turns south and extends approximately 1,030 feet on the west side of Hagan Bridge Road ending at the intersection of Hagan Bridge Road and Grace Street. The total length of the project would be approximately 2,520 feet. The existing right-of-way widths in the project area are: 100 feet on East Main Street/SR 122; 40 feet on Main Street Extension; and 60 feet on Hagan Bridge Road. The proposed project would be built within existing right-of-way and a 1 0-foot temporary construction and slope maintenance easement would be required along the south side of Main Street Extension.
