Abstract

This project is to replace the existing two-lane SR 140/Houze Road bridge with a two-lane bridge. The existing bridge, constructed in 1952, is load limited with a sufficiency rating of 39; therefore, this bridge does not meet GDOT's current standards. The SR 140/Houze Road bridge over the Little River is recommended for replacement by the Office of Bridge Maintenance.

The proposed project would replace the existing 32-foot wide bridge along its current alignment. The new bridge would be built directly northeast of and adjacent to the existing bridge. The proposed new bridge would be 44 feet wide and would consist of two 12-foot travel lanes with 8-foot rural shoulders (2-foot paved). Traffic would be maintained on the existing bridge while the proposed bridge is constructed.
