Abstract

The proposed project would consist of combining the separate intersections of Campbellton Road at Boat Rock Road and Boat Rock Road at New Hope Road into a single roundabout intersection. The proposed typical section would include urban shoulders of varying widths with 10 foot sidewalks along Campbellton Road, Boat Rock Road, and New Hope Road. This project is located in southwestern Fulton County, approximately 4 miles west of the Campbellton road (SR 154/166) interchange with 1-285 (see Figure 1). The projeyt is also less than 2 miles from the intersection of Campbellton Road at Camp Creek Parkway. The project design would conform to the provisions 9f the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Right-of-way (ROW), Permanent easement, and/or temporary easements would be required for this project. The existing ROW for Campbellton Road is 80 feet and its proposed ROW ranges from 82-128 feet. The existing ROW for Boat Rock Road varies from 55-80 feet and its proposed ROW ranges from 68-90 feet. The existing ROW for New Hope Road varies from 50-106 feet and its proposed ROW ranges from 64-127 feet. The roundabout is 1 lane around that is 18 feet in width. It has the capability (pavement width with striping) of being converted in the future to two lanes on one side and would remain 1 lane on the other 3 sides.
