Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed Section 106 Review Documentation, FCC Form 620, for our client, Towersource, Inc., concerning their proposed telecommunication site. ECA's report assesses a federal undertaking at the subject site where Towersource, Inc. proposes to construct a telecommunications facility within an 80-foot by 25- foot compound. The proposed facility is located at 2759 Delk Road within the city limits of Marietta in Cobb County, Georgia.

Our site visit, research and analysis have revealed that during construction of extensive commercial developments on the parent tract, substantial ground disturbance took place. Activities that occurred during initial development of the parent tract, sometime between 1968 and 1972, included clearing and grading. Later, more disturbances to the topsoil occurred during development of the commercial building and the asphalt pavement placed around the building. Considering the amount of earth moving activity at this site, any cultural-resource bearing soils were excavated or buried.

Therefore, it is my professional opinion that no archaeological field survey should be performed at the project site at this time. The likelihood of construction at this proposed subject site effecting archaeological resources is remote.
